A gift corner shop caught fire due to incense sticks during puja on Saturday morning near the post office of Jamui district headquarters in Bihar. The flames were so strong that they engulfed the entire shop. Within no time the fire took a huge form and engulfed the nearby shops too. However, after receiving the information, two fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and the fire was brought under control. In this fire incident, goods worth more than Rs 2 lakh including cash kept in the gift corner are said to have been burnt.
Meanwhile, the victim shopkeeper Ajay Bhagat told that he runs a gift corner shop near the post office in Maharajganj. He also works in the post office. He told that on Saturday morning, after opening his shop, he went to the room on the first floor of his house and started doing paper work of the post office. Then his wife came to the shop to perform puja, lit incense sticks and went towards the temple. After that, the entire shop caught fire due to the spark from the incense sticks. The fire became so intense that businessman Ajay Bhagat got trapped badly on the first floor.
Here, after getting the information, nearby people tried to control the fire, but the fire became so huge that it was difficult to control it. After this, information about the incident was given to the fire department. Then two fire engines reached the spot and after some time the fire could be controlled.
Meanwhile, after getting information about the matter, police officials including Town Police Station Head Arun Kumar reached the spot. Then she sent the injured to the hospital and started investigating the entire matter. Town police station incharge Arun Kumar said that there was a fire in a shop, in which one person got burnt. He is being treated in Sadar Hospital.
